LIVESTRONG AT THE YMCA

Ages: 9th grade through adult
LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a program committed to reaching out to cancer survivors who deserve the opportunity to reclaim or gain their health following their cancer diagnosis and beyond. The 12-week program is FREE and takes place in a clean and supportive environment that is facilitated by specially trained instructors. The goal of this program is to provide cancer survivors with a unique healing experience. This class is open to all cancer survivors whether newly diagnosed or 20 years out.
ENHANCE® FITNESS
MODIFIED MOVES, MAXIMUM RESULTS
Ages: older adults & individuals with arthritis
The Enhance Fitness program is a proven, evidence-based program community-based senior fitness and arthritis management program. It helps older adults become more active, energized and empowered for independent living. Expect a safe, casual atmosphere that encourages social interaction, which is a vital part of health and well-being, and then add an energetic, certified instructor, and the result is a fun and lively program that works.
F.E.S. BIKE
LIVING WITH PARALYSIS
Ages: 9th grade through adult
The Y strives to reach out to everyone regardless of physical ability. The F.E.S. bike stands for Functional Electrical Stimulation and this exercise mode addresses a need of people with neurological impairments. These bikes provide an exercise option for people with M.S, Parkinson’s, Spinal Cord Injury, Cerebral Palsy, Brain Injury, Stroke, and Benign Tremors. Through Controlled pulses of electrical current, peripheral nerves are stimulated which results in muscles contracting and moving the cranks on the bike. Dynamic motor support in the bike is integrated with the electrical stimulation to ensure patterned activity regardless of individual’s muscle strength or ability to move limbs. Some benefits of using the F.E.S. bike include but are not limited to: reversal of muscle atrophy, improved local blood circulation, increased range of motion, reduced muscle spasticity and neuromuscular re-education. The Sheridan County YMCA is the only facility in the area that has F.E.S. bikes for public use

8-WEEK PRENATAL PREPARATION WORKSHOP
Are you pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant? Join the Sheridan County YMCA, Sheridan County Public Health, Rose Midwife, Willow Creek Counseling, Sheridan Women’s Clinic, Wyoming Rehab, Healthy Habits, Healthy Kids and Dietician Sarah Sommers as they take you through an 8-week prenatal preparation workshop that helps answer questions you may have and find out what kind of resources are available for you in our community.
ENHANCED FITNESS
*Active Older Adults
This is an evident-based class that includes cardiovascular, strength training, balance and flexibility as well as fostering strong social relationships between participants. Enhance Fitness is geared toward older adults. Those with a chronic condition, such as arthritis, need not worry; you will never have to do anything that hurts. Participants can use chairs for support if necessary. There is no fee for 16 consecutive weeks for both Members and Community Members. Registration includes paperwork to be completed by the first class.

FITNESS 101
*Active Older Adults, Youth ages 16 & older, Adults
This class is for those who aren’t sure where to begin and want to earn more about
fitness and wellness. This 6 week program will have both educational & physical components that change focus on a week to week basis so you can find what is most interesting to you and set up for success in living a healthy lifestyle. There is no fee for 6 consecutive weeks for both Members and Community Members. Registration includes paperwork to be completed by the first class.
INDIVIDUAL COACHING
*Active Older Adults, Youth ages 16 & older, Adults
True health and wellness is about so much more than the food you eat and how you
move your body. Many people already have ideas about the areas in their life they
might like to work on, but health coaches go beyond the “what” and help explore the “why.” Let a coach help you explore and identify barriers so you can work together to formulate a plan on how to work around them with less stress.

STYKU 3D BODY SCANNING
*Active Older Adults, Youth ages 16 & older, Adults
STYKU uses 3D body scanning technology to measure body data and composition. Get away from simply looking at the number on the scale and start visualizing the difference. It’s fast and non-invasive, provides data that makes sense and allows you to track progress. Pay individually or purchase a package
