YOUTH SPORTS

YMCA Youth Sports teach kids the fundamentals, good sportsmanship, and teamwork, as well as give them the opportunity to gain confidence that comes from playing on a team. Youth sports at the Sheridan County Y are about building the whole child from the inside out.

SOCCER

BASKETBALL

Rimbusters (coordinated with the Sheridan Rec Department)

This joint Sheridan County YMCA and  Sheridan Recreation District program is perfect to introduce the sport of basketball to young players. This is an instructional program with a camp-like environment focused on teaching children the fundamentals of the game. Sportsmanship, individual and team skills are taught in the great after-school program. A T-shirt is included in your fee.

T-BALL (AGES 4-5)

Ages 4-5 years old (pre-kindergarten). Young children will learn fundamental skills, rules and how to interact socially with others in this sport. Every inning, each player bats or plays in the field. Sitting on the bench is one position that no one plays in YMCA T-Ball!

VOLLEYBALL

Girls 3rd–5th Grade Volleyball

Get ready for a season of learning, energy, and growth. Our Girls 3rd–5th Grade Volleyball program introduces players to the fundamentals of the sport while building confidence, teamwork, and a love for being active. Whether they’re brand new or have a little experience, every athlete will feel supported and encouraged.

SEEKING HIGH SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS!

Volunteering shows leadership, empathy, and a commitment to making a difference in your community—traits that colleges and future employers value. Get involved and make a positive impact right here at the Sheridan County YMCA. The work that is done by volunteers generates a tremendous spirit in the Y. Youth Sport volunteers may include coaching, assistant coaching or perhaps contributing time marking fields, refereeing or monitoring games.
