About the Scholarship: 

All high school seniors in Sheridan County are eligible to receive a $1000 scholarship from a generous donor through the Sheridan County YMCA. 

Part of the Y mission is to support the physical, emotional, and spiritual growth of youth in our community. We believe that having a strong spiritual foundation is crucial to young adults’ abilities to combat anxiety and demonstrate resilience during the challenges of early adulthood. Today’s youth need all the support we can give them. Having the support of a spiritual community as part of a life of faith will give them hope in troubled times. This scholarship is intended to incentivize attending church or church youth programs with the hope that it will result in habit forming participation in a faith-based community that they will then sustain into adulthood. 

Eligibility Criteria: 

Be a 2025 graduating senior from a High School in Sheridan County 

Application Process: 

Pick up a participation log at the Sheridan County YMCA’s front desk Attend 10 services or youth group programs at at least two different churches (one service maximum per week) from November 2024 – October 2025. Complete and turn your log in to the Sheridan County YMCA’s front desk Possibly be willing to share how the experience has impacted you 

Not Required: 

Essay, test score, or GPA requirements.
