What do you love about your job? / What do you love about the Sheridan YMCA?
What I love most about my job is the incredible people I get to connect with every day! Whether it’s a friendly face stopping by my office or a warm smile in the hallway, our members and staff bring such positivity and energy that can instantly brighten even the most stressful moments. The Sheridan YMCA is special because of its amazing community. Our members are passionate, dedicated, and kind individuals who truly love and respect this town—and it’s a privilege to serve alongside them.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
When I’m not at work, I cherish spending quality time with my family and friends. We love going on adventures together—whether it’s hiking, traveling to sports tournaments, taking family trips, or simply enjoying time with loved ones in town. My faith is a big part of who I am, and I love Jesus. Praying brings me peace and joy, and it’s something I treasure deeply. Last but not least, staying active is important to me too! I enjoy running, exercising, and, of course, playing/coaching a little basketball whenever I get the chance.

What I love about the Sheridan YMCA: In my role in Human Resources, I have the privilege of working with an amazing staff that is fully committed to serving the community of Sheridan with their whole hearts. I grew up at the Sheridan YMCA, and it has been wonderful to see it expand and offer programs and services to every demographic in the city. I personally love the different classes offered and have tried most of them! Our Aquatics Center can’t be beat, and our camps are fun and inclusive. I’m very proud of our work here!
When I’m not working: My most passionate hobby is photography, which drives me to travel and spend as much time outdoors as the weather allows – I love to hike and camp. I am also pursuing a yoga teaching certification to teach a Holy Flow class. I love Jesus, music, dancing, reading and spending time with my daughter Stella. I can turn anything into an adventure and try to do that as much as possible!

What I love about the Sheridan YMCA: I love being around and interacting with all the kids. They give the best hugs and the cutest hellos in the morning along with their smiles. What a community the Y has here in Sheridan. The facility itself is amazing and has something to offer for everyone. The YMCA childcare is such an awesome program and offers so much to our Y kids, from swimming to available gyms, sports and an awesome new playland. I myself have never been a part of such a great program like ours!

Basketball.
Started working at the Y in 2025
When I started working at the Y:
I first joined the YMCA as a member when I arrived in the States 21 years ago. Throughout the last 21 years I have built a strong network of wonderful friends, increased my family to include two fantastic children and found myself a meaningful role in the community (but not lost my English accent). I started working at the Y in May 2025.
What I love about my job:
Of course, I love my job. I get to spend my time forming relationships with people of all ages and backgrounds and helping the accomplished front desk crew problem-solve different scenarios as they arise. No two days are the same.
What I love about our Sheridan YMCA:
I have loved being part of the YMCA membership community for 21 years. I love being active and being challenged by my friends and Y staff in our beautiful facility. Now that I work here too, I especially love the Financial Assistance program, funded by generous community members who ensure that all members get to join the Y regardless of their financial situation. How welcoming is that?
What I enjoy doing when I’m not at work:
My non-work time is varied. I enjoy creating new things (e.g., learning to paint with oils, experimenting with new recipes, and rearranging the furniture in my home). I love spending time with my children and my large family of friends. And I’m always on the lookout for a new physical challenge.
Started working at the Y in 2025
When I started working at the Y:
I started at the Sheridan YMCA in April of 2025 and hit the ground running—straight into a game of gaga ball and a pile of popsicle sticks.
What I love about my job:
I love that no two days are the same. One minute I’m planning superhero cape-making, the next I’m mediating a very serious debate about whether fruit snacks count as a fruit. But the best part? Watching kids grow in confidence, kindness, and creativity. That will never get old.
What I love about our Sheridan YMCA:
Well, besides the fact that everyone says “hi” like they mean it? I love that this place brings people together. It’s not just a gym or a camp—it’s a home base for families, staff, and kids to feel safe, supported, and part of something bigger.
What I enjoy doing when I’m not at work:
I’m usually recovering from a wickedly competitive week of capture the flag, spending time with family, or getting deep into a new craft or hobby (right now it’s building miniature book nooks). I love a good laugh, a quiet moment, and any excuse to brainstorm a wild new theme week idea.
Started working in 2014, working at Camp Roberts for the summer. I made my return in 2023 in my current role.
What I love about my Job is: I affectionately call the Y “the Disneyland of Sheridan, Wyoming” because it feels like the happiest place in town. The building never ceases to be filled with smiles, laughter, connection, and activity. My favorite thing about working at the Y is that it feels like a village within a village. I am ever-inspired by the way our members and our staff watch out for each other, take care of each other, and support each other every day.
What I love about our Sheridan YMCA: From fitness and recreation to childcare and education, the YMCA offers a variety of services that benefit the community in countless ways as well as You have the opportunity to build relationships with members, staff, and volunteers who share your passion for community service.
What I enjoy doing when I am not at work: When I’m not working, I love to spend time playing with my family, reading, exercising, exploring the outdoors, and concocting healthy and delicious recipes.
Title: Aquatics Director
I’m actively involved in my church, which is a core part of my life and values. Faith and community help keep me grounded and offer perspective, no matter how busy life gets.
While hockey and golf are my favorites, I enjoy just about any sport. I’ve played or coached ice hockey for most of my life, and whether it’s playing, watching, or just talking sports, I enjoy the challenge and the connection it brings.
Above all, I strive to be a person of integrity in every area of life. Staying connected to what matters most—and bringing a steady, positive presence to whatever I’m doing—is what guides me every day.
